Coming from immigrant parents, welfare, domestic violence, and working 40+ hours a week, I made it.
Today I’ve graduated with a BA in Broadcast Journalism with an emphasis in filmmaking. I could have never done it without the love and support of my mother and my close family friends. Both have been an incredible blessing the past four years and I’m ever so grateful to have them in my life.
I would like to also mention how proud I am of myself for getting this far. Personally paying my way through college and life is HARD. Balancing school and work is HARD. Adulting is HARD. But despite all that, I hustled and did enough to get my foot in the door at one of the top 30 news markets in the United States (without a completed degree at the time) and have been there since November! I’m killing it and I’m excited to see where my career and life takes me!
There’s really nowhere to go but up from here baby!!
Class of 2020!!!
